Area Info
Located in Italy's last undiscovered, unspoiled area - literally stunning - Coast of Maratea & The Cilento National Park. Traveler Magazine says "Maratea is Heaven - It's The Amalfi Without The Crowds.... Italy's Best Kept Secret".
It is just to the south of the Amalfi coast; however, much easier, cheaper, and faster to get to - excellent high-speed road (A3) and rail service from Naples (many airlines) and Lamezia Terme (Ryan Air & Alitalia).
Slow Dreams was founded to enable the founders to extend their year long sojourn in the idyllic fishing village of Scario - the Cilento National Park's most beautiful village - one of the last Italian idyllic fishing villages not ruined by tourism. It's the perfect escape - we escaped for 7 wonderful years.
The villa, staring directly onto The mesmerizing Coast of Maratea, is located within the Cilento National Park, just a short walk away from the beach and the village of Scario (where Slow Dreams was founded). This stunning villa with an exceptionally large pool and lush Mediterranean garden with breath taking views over the Gulf of Policastro and the surrounding hills. The villa is divided onto three floors, each with private terrace and outdoor dining facilities.
Each floor has its own private entrance. It has poolside gym for those who like to keep fit, and a sizeable swimming pool with panoramic views. Its lush gardens with colorful flowers, shrubs and fruit trees completes this idyllic picture.
Just a five-minute walk takes you to the nearest beach and to the village of Scario . A picturesque fishing village often referred to as ‘South of Italy’s Portofino’, with shops, good restaurants and a pretty harbor.
Just a few miles away you can reach Cilento’s most acclaimed seaside resorts, such as Marina di Camerota, Palinuro, Villammare, Sapri and Maratea which are often linked by a boat service during the summer months. As well as a wide variety of landscapes, ranging from long sandy beaches to rocky coves and steep cliffs, from forested hills to barren plateau, this region also offers excellent cuisine and outdoor activities to suit all tastes. Horse riding and canoeing is also possible to do along the nearby river Bussento.
